Summer-loving

We’re all broken little fragments of another’s hammer on our hearts. It’s actually quite depressing. Despite the fact, the face takes years to form its fine lines, creases and wrinkles. I knew to look in his eyes. It was just like they said: when you look in the eyes of the beholder, you’ll see in their heart. So, I looked, then looked away. I didn’t say anything, but just as I did. I knew in that moment we had shared equal understanding.

I won’t say that I was ready to walk away. For truth be told, I was intrigued by the sorrow and the less than emptiness his eyes had shown me. But he, he was done with me. Already had he gained from me all that of which he had intended to use me for. So I suppose then we used a little of each-other that day.
